Officers responding to the 400 block of South 5th Street on a report of a disturbance found a vehicle reportedly involved in the incident leaving the scene and stopped the driver, Colwyn Borough police said.

After an officer noticed a large container of marijuana and a large amount of cash in the car, the 22-year-old Chester City woman attempted to flee the scene, dragging the officer a short distance, police said.

Another officer chased the woman and found her vehicle at 3rd and Pine Streets, but it was unoccupied. He found her a short distance away, according to police.

Investigators later discovered that the woman had discarded a 9mm Polymer 80 handgun and more marijuana near the scene, police said.

The woman was arrested on weapons and narcotics charges as well as aggravated assault.

She was taken to George W. Hill Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
